The following presentation was delivered to members of the ESSF in October 2017.

A joint position from ECSA and WSC can be found here. As stated within the position, industry is eagerly awaiting the publication of a revised proposal from the European Commission in May 2018. It is hoped to remedy the current costly, unharmonised and burdensome reporting requirements facing ships calling at EU ports

The scrubber installation on the Stena Hollandica can be viewed in this short video from Damen Shipyards.

The project partners of the Scrubbers: Closing the loop project, together with Region Västra Götaland jointly organised on 16 October 2018 a workshop to discuss the technical and regulatory dimensions of scrubber technology in reducing air emissions and meeting EU and IMO regulations. Speakers and participants took the opportunity to share experiences and results of the project, followed by a broader discussion on scrubbers from different points of view (regulators, shipyards, owners/operators, research institutes).

Many thanks to all speakers and participants for your contributions to the workshop. Here are all the presentations and documents that our speakers and partners shared with us during the event.

The project partners organised a webinar in December 2018 on how scrubber waste can be managed from ship to shore.

During the event, project partners shared their experience of installing closed-loop scrubbers on the Stena Britannica and the Stena Hollandica, and discussed practical guidance on the handling of scrubber waste.

A recording of the webinar is available here, with the presentations available via the links below.

Many thanks to all speakers and participants for your contributions.
